All of our Class Notes follow the Course Specification set out by Qualifications Scotland for National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher RMPS. At each level, there is a wide choice of units and, as such, there is no ‘one size fits all’ textbook.

Every set of Class Notes could have been endless. RMPS is a rich and varied subject, and it is very hard not to dive into interesting tangents or explore new ideas in as much depth as possible. However, these notes are not intended to be an exhaustive source on every denomination, sect, philosophy, or moral issue.

Instead, we hope they provide a clear, accessible, and engaging foundation that gives pupils everything they need to be as successful as possible in their RMPS course. And also to serve as a guide for teachers who may be unsure what to include after reading the Course Specification alone!

Advanced Higher RMPS

Is it logical to believe that God exists? Can we find solid evidence for God’s existence? Should atheism be presumed? Is the concept of God coherent? Can God get a headache?! In this book, Laura Crichton explores these questions in order to aid pupils in their study of Atheism as part of the SQA RMPS Advanced Higher. Originally produced as a series of class notes, this guide has been refined over the past decade as Laura has taught the Advanced Higher to countless pupils. The book is highly accessible and covers all the key elements of the mandatory content for Atheism – the presumption of atheism, the incoherence of atheism, and the improbability of God.
